Culturally captivating and an excellent introduction to the heritage of Odisha, often known as the Golden Triangle of East India this tour takes you across three destinations – Puri, Konark and Bubaneshwar.
An embodiment of art, culture and architecture, Konark, Odisha is best known for it’s mesmerising Sun temple. Built by King Narasimhadeva during the 13th century CE, and known as or Black Pagoda by European soldiers (being close enough to the shore, it was used for navigational purposes, its tall towers black), this UNESCO World Heritage Site is a stunning example of Kalinga architecture. Now in ruins, it sits as a reminder of the grandeur of the Eastern Ganga Dynasty.
Built in the form of a massive ornamental, 12 wheeled chariot, the tremple is symbolic of Surya, the Sun God traversing the skies, at radid speed, in a chariot pulled by seven horses. Overwhelming with iconography, every detail at the Temple of Konark has a tale to tell, beautifully adorned with intricate sculptures illustrating stories of everyday mortal life and culture as well mythology and and sacred Hindu texts.
Another important highlight of this tour is the famous Hindu temple of Jagannatha ( known as the White Pagoda) in Puri. Reaching a height of about 214 feet from ground level, it is one of India ‘s tallest monuments built in the 12th century A.D. Adorned with intricate carvings and fascinating sculptures, the temple is one of the best examples of the Kalinga style of architecture.

Post breakfast set out to explore the famous Konark Sun temple. A world heritage site, the Sun Temple at Konark dates back to the mid 13th century and is a testimony indicative of the artistic glory of the times. Finished with intricate sculptures, it is a fantastic example of the Kalinga school of architecture.
Spend the day exploring the magnificent temple complex. In the afternoon make time to visit the Archeological Survey of India Museum, which is home to many a ruin from the site of the Sun Temple.
Head back to the accommodation for the night.

After breakfast, set out to visit the Balukhand Wildlife Sanctuary, located on the coast of the Bay of Bengal, between Konark and Puri, its landscapes made of cashew and casuarina plantations, mangrove forests and pristine beaches.
Enjoy the safari, the sanctuary famous for the population of the local spotted deer and the Black Buck and Olive Ridley Sea Turtles which line the beach.
Continue to Puri. Check in to your accommodation. The rest of the day is to be spent at leisure.

Post breakfast set out to see one of the holiest of temples recognised by the Hindu culture and is one among the Char Dham. Built in the 12th century CE, the temple complex is expansive and its ornamentation elaborate. Fluid in its state of architecture and sculptural intricacy, the complex is home to no less than 120 shrines and temples, surrounded by a high frotified wall.
Perfect for a stroll or a surf, the sprawling Puri shoreline is a key attraction in the ancient temple town. Promising spectacular views of the ocean at sunset and sunrise, a visit to the beach is quint essential to the Puri experience.
After a mesmerizing sunset and picking up a suvenir of local crafts, sea shells or pearls, head back to your accommodation.
