Exploring the diversity and richness of ancient Indian art that has found home in Madya Pradesh, this tour takes you to the world heritage site of Khajuraho and Jabalpur (the state capital ) and Bandhavgarh.
Promising to be the highlight of your tour, the Khajuraho Temple Complex , is one of the most well preserved temples from medival India.
Known around the world for their erotic and sensuous ornamentation, the Khajuraho temple complex, is located a small town in Madhya Pradesh, some 175 kilometers southeast of Jhansi. Commisioned by the Chandela Dynasty between 950 to 1050 AD, the temples are of the traditional Nagara style. WIth over 85 temples by the 12 th Century, the complex spread over 20 square kilometers. Of them, only 25 survive today and stand as a testimony to the expressiveness of ancient Indian art.
Dedicted both to the Hindhu and Jain faiths, the temples are indicative of respect and acceptance of diverse religious views at the time. Adorned with intricate sculptures which depict numerous aspects of human life and values, focusing on the Hindu theories of dharma, kama, artha and moksha, with one of the most intricate of the surviving temples, the Kandariya Mahadeva Temple, alone adorned with over 870 sculptures.

After breakfast at the hotel, proceed to explore the amazing Jabalpur with the natural “balancing rocks” followed by the wonderfully sculpted Madan Mahal Fort built during 1116 AD, offering a mesmerising panoramic view of the city of Jabalpur. Next stop at Dhuandar Waterfalls, an epitome of refreshing natural beauty, as magnificent limestone rocks rise from the pristine waters of the River Narmada.
Head back to the accommodation for the night.

After a scrumptious breakfast at the hotel, check-out of the hotel and set out towards Khajuraho.
Upon arrival, check-in to the hotel.
Enjoy the Light and Sound show in the evening. Alternatively, explore the town and shop for souvenirs.

Post breakfast, head out to explore the Khajuraho Temple Complex. One of the four holiest of places dedicated to Lord Shiva, (the other three being Kedarnath, Kashi and Gaya ), the Khajuraho Temples date back to before the 12th Century, till which they were in active use.
Adorned with impressive sculptures which narrate tales of mythology and illustrate values of life that form the foundations of the Hindu and Jain faiths.
The highlight of the day would probably be the Kandariya Mahadeva Temple. One among the most well-preserved temples in the complex, it is a masterpiece, its spire reaching 102ft into the sky and its form intricately ornate with over 870 sculptures alone. at the hotel after which we explore the famous and the largest Kandariya Mahadeo temple that is dedicated to Lord Shiva.
Geographically divided into Eastern, Western and Southern categories, the entire complex stretches over an area on six square kilometres, accommodating 25 temples as opposed to the original 85.
Leisurely explore the beautiful complex before heading back to the hotel.

After the morning meal, explore the beautiful fort city of Kalinjar.
The fort itself is located on an isolated rocky hill at the end of the Vindyan Range, looking plains of Bundelkhand and once home to several ruling dynasties, hosting many temples that date back to the Gupta Dynasty.
Stop at the Neelkanth temple, situated on the Western side of the Fort of Kalijar, it is an ancient Shiva Temple, famous for being home to the ‘ Ekmukhi Shivalinga’, among several other ancient edifices.
In the afternoon set out to Bandhavgarh. Upon arrival check into a hotel.
Post refreshments, visit Bandhavgarh National Park. At Bandhavgarh, diverse landscapes come together with a moderate climate to give you one of the most exciting wildlife experiences ever. Known to host the highest density of Royal Bengal Tigers, Bandhavgarh also allows you to sight the Bengal fox, the Asiatic wolf, and the sloth bear as well as the elusive leopard.
Head back to the accommodation for the night.

Post breakfast, proceed to Jabalpur Airport, for the flight back home.
