Celebrated in almost every part of India, Holi, the Hindu festival of love, portrays an array of vibrant colours being splatted by people on one another, lasting for a day or two. With folklore suggesting the fest to bring ultimate joy and enthusiasm in a person’s life, the Holi ritual starts by lighting up the bonfire one day before the main festival, to symbolise the victory of good over evil.

People enjoy delicious food, play with colours, dance along into the groovy beats and  enjoy some quality time with their friends and families in the Holi season!

Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive in Delhi

Arrive in Delhi and check-in.

Enjoy a walk around the bustling streets of Delhi after exploring the famous Red Fort, home to the Mughal emperors and now turned ceremonial spot followed by Jama Masjid, one of the largest and most sanctified mosques in India and the historically significant, Indian War Memorial Museum.

Return to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 2Delhi Sightseeing

After breakfast, our morning visit takes us to India Gate, a war memorial dedicated to the British India troops who were martyred fighting World War I. Later stop by the beautiful Akshardham temple with marvellous sculptures and architecture housing different avatars of Hindu Gods and sages. In the afternoon, visit the expansive complex of Humayun’s tomb.

Return to the hotel.

Day 3Delhi - Vrindavan

After breakfast, set out to see one of Delhi modern masterpieces, the great Lotus temple advocating the integral religion of Bahai followed by a visit to the Qutub Minar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with 73 m-high tower built in 1193 by Qutab-ud-din Aibak immediately commemorative of their latest victory.

Take a three hours drive to Vrindavan (Uttar Pradesh) in the evening. Check-in at the hotel and take rest or explore the holi celebrations at night.

Return to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 4Holi Celebrations, Vrindavan

After breakfast, prepare for an unforgettable journey at the Bankey Bihari Temple in Vrindavan. People from around the country and world gather on the streets of Vrindavan celebrating togetherness, by throwing colors on each other. Join the native crowd and heads towards the Temple chanting songs.

Turning into photographers heaven, the residents of the neighbourhood also shower vibrant colours and water to welcome everyone . Explore the breathtaking temple along with its mystical chants and holi celebration. Enjoy the rest of the day celebrating Holi. In the evening, explore the infamous Prem Mandir and ISKCON temple decorated with angel lights and flowers followed by some little shopping at the Vrindavan market.

Return to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 5Vrindavan - Mathura - Agra

After breakfast, head for a 20 minutes drive to Mathura in Uttar Pradesh, the birthplace of Hindu Lord Krishna.

Visit the Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple (Birthplace of Krishna) followed by Vishram Ghat, a bath and worship place on the banks of river Yamuna. Behold the most sanctified temple of Dwarkadhish, one of the oldest and largest temples of Mathura.

Take a road trip to Agra, the city of significant ancient architecture. Check-in at the hotel and rest.

Day 6Agra sightseeing - Departure

After breakfast, head towards Taj Mahal, an ethereal ivory-white mausoleum, an epitome of love, built by Emperor Shah Jahan for his beloved wife Mumtaz followed by a drive to Fatehpur-Sikri, the birthplace of King Akbar, reflecting the Mughal style architecture, along with Buland Darwaza and Birbal’s palace with their amazing architecture.

Travel to the nearest airport or railways station for your enroute journey.
