Snow-clad Himalayan ranges, a rustic charm and spirituality filled in the air; all these ingredients make Dirang a perfect hideout to spend some tranquil holidays in the lap of Mother Nature. The little village lies hidden in the West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh and stands as a gateway to the state’s much celebrated tourist destination, Tawang. Tawang receives snowfall every year during December–January. There is also a ski lift in town. Most of the travel from the plains is on a steep hill road journey, crossing Sela Pass at 4,176 metres (13,701 ft). Tourists can travel to Tawang from Tezpur, Assam by road and also avail direct flights.
Tawang is a delightful destination for the mountain lovers, trekkers and scenists.

An early morning river rafting session has been arranged on the waters of the Jia Bhorolee River. After that, check out from hotel & directly proceed to Dirang.
You’d find Dirang to be a charming city located in the north-eastern state of Arunachal Pradesh. With beautiful apple orchards and impressive sheep breeding farms, Dirang holidays draw travellers for a welcome break in the ‘Hot-Water Springs’ of Dirang located 4 kms away from the township.
The evening is to be spent vacant at leisure, alternatively, you can explore the town or do a bit of shopping.

After breakfast, we’ll drive from Dirang to Tawang.
On the way, visit the Sela Pass – one of the most visited places in the entire Arunachal Pradesh situated at a height of 13,714 ft. Considered to be heaven on earth, the Sela Mountain Pass in winter is entirely covered with snow. Before reaching this pass, you would be welcomed by another lake, known as the Paradise Lake. Indulge in the hilly landscape and misty summits on the way to Tawang.

After breakfast, venture out on a local sightseeing of Tawang.
The main attraction is here would be the Tawang Monastery, also known as the Golden Namgyal Lhatse, one of the largest lamaseries of Mahayana sects. This is the second oldest Monastery in the entire world just after Lhasa. With control over 17 Gompas in the region, this monastery is believed to be 400 years old.
We’d also pay a visit to the Tawang War Memorial, a 40 ft high multi-hued memorial constructed in the stupa design and the Pangang Teng Tso Lake (PTSO) – located at a distance of 18 kilometres from Tawang Township. The lake remains entirely frozen during the winter season.

After breakfast, visit Bum La Pass. The Pass is located about 37 km away from Tawang, at the Indo-China border above 16,500 ft.
It is mostly adorned with thick snow and home to a horde of visitors throughout the year.
