Taking a walk through Cambodia’s heritage is a journey of a lifetime. Dive deep into the Cambodia’s artistic past and delicious cuisine and beautiful old stone cravings. The stunning architecture at Angor Wat, Siam Reap is the tells the legendary stories associated with the ancient Khmer empire while Ta Phom is an example of beauty of nature untouched by human hands for centuries. And one cannot miss the sunset view of Angkor Wat from Phom Bakheng. Cambodia has a lot on the plate for someone who has a keen eye for art and historic heritage.

Post breakfast, we will start from a visit to Angkor Thom, the great capital of the Khmer Empire from 802CE to 1431CE.
Full of ancient temple complexes and royal palaces the most famous one being the Angkor Wat. A UNESCO World Heritage site famous for being the largest temple in the Angkor Archaeological site, built by King Suryavarma II dedicated to Lord Vishnu.
Then we continue to Bayon Temple Complex which has 54 towers ad 216 faces of “Buddhist Avalokitesvara”. There we visit its main highlights -the ancient Royal Palace and the Elephant Terrace.
Also, we will take a climb to the Phom Bakheng hill to have a magnificent sunset view of Angkor Wat.

Post breakfast, we will start our journey to visit Bantey Sri Temple on the north side of the Siam Reap town famous for holding the” Tribhuwana Mahcavara”. It is carved in hard pink sandstone with fine and unique designs.
Next, we will take a trip to Kbal Spean to see the Thousand Linga river and waterfall. The uniqueness of this river lies in the thousands of Lingas that are carved into its river bed.
While returning we will take a look at the Akira land mine museum to see the land mines from the Khmer rouge time. Next is the visit to Preah ko Bakon Lolei- a three temple complex from the 9th century which is the earliest site for the 600 year Angkor period.

Post breakfast we will visit Ta Phom built by King Jayaverma VII (1181-1218). The temple complex is covered in giant trees that have grown around it. It is famous for appearing in the movie “Tomb Raiders”. Around it exists two more temples namely Ta nei, and Banteaye kdei.
Next is a visit to Eastern Mebon, built by King Rajendraverma II dedicated to God Shiva. Then we will visit Preah Kham temple which was built in the memory of “Thananindaverma” the late father of the king and Neak Pan which was a hospital with an artificial lake.

Arrive in Battambang which is known for being the hub vibrant art galleries.
We will visit the charming colonial-era building of the city along with a tour to the ”Walking District” a hotspot for contemporary art galleries showcasing the works of a number of talented artists. We will visit a few studios to interact with local artists about their artwork as well. Next, we will take a hike through the old French shop houses, reaching the Battambang Museum and Wat Piphit.
Then we will take a tour of the Angkorian Temple-Wat Ek Phnom just outside the city on a hilltop.

Arriving in Phnom Penh, we will visit the royal palace –it serves as the imperial palace for the king of Cambodia. Next, we take a trip to the Silver Pagoda- famous for holding treasures such as gold and especially an Emerald Buddhist statues and continue to the National Museum holding a huge collection of Khmer art.
Next, we will visit the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek, where thousands of people were killed during the pol pot regime. Take a tour of the Tuol Sleng Museum (Museum of Genocide) to learn about the tragic past of the Khmer Rouge regime and visit the Security prison-21 that now showcases photographs and exhibits about the thousands of victims that passed through these doors – only seven of whom came out alive.

Post breakfast, proceed to the airport or railway station for the departure home.
