Glastonbury festival was a terrific idea by Michael Eavis, that occurred after attending the Blues festival at the Bath & West Showground. The first Festival was claimed to be held on the day after Jimi Hendrix (world-class classic rock guitarist) died.
The festival was estimated to be held on a smaller scale with around 1500 people attending it in 1970. Today, it is regarded as the largest greenfield music and performing arts festival in the world, with an electrifying and vibrant cultural atmosphere that takes place every year, offering numerous opportunities to have the best weekend of a lifetime.
The Festival takes place in the Vale of Avalon, an area of 900 acres, immersed in allegory, mythology and religious traditions dating back hundreds of years ago with rumors as to King Arthur (mythological character) being buried. The Festival site has distinct socio-geographic regions, as you behold a huge tented city, a mini-state under canvas. The laws around here are a little bit freer than usual hence allowing everyone to have a wild time in their own way, exploring the variety of wonders in the amazing Glastonbury!
